Variety Show rite - Saturday session

[ All participants are whisked into a game show studio. Above them there is a giant sign in neon lights declaring: "Pasture BAAARIETY SHOW with your hosts the Late Show Demon and Warden the Insult Comic Jackalope!" A swell of live applause begins even though the lights make it impossible to see who could possibly be out there in the audience stands, but everyone can tell they're being watched.

Each flock, some with added Weeds, find themselves standing behind a podium. There is a counter on each podium that currently reads zero. ]



[ The Late Show Demon waves to the invisible audience then taps some note cards...which promptly go up in flames. It looks like it's showtime! ]

Talk Show Portion

[ This is the brief amount of time you have to get your bearings and see who else is here before the host's monologue is over and the game begins. The rules of each round will be explained to you diegetically, but you also instinctively know that this is a team game. Earning points will mean the team with the highest score wins. Flock and canon powers are on, but cannot be used against the hosts, and if you try to fuck things up enough nobody is going to win any fabulous prizes (TM). ]

Round 1: Smart Sheep or Stupid Sheep

Ahem, welcome contestants to our Baaariety Show! This is a game designed to test your imagination and how well you think on your feet. It's a little like a prison rec room, only no shivs are allowed.

The first round is a game we call Smart Sheep or Stupid Sheep. We all know you're supposed to be teaching those cud chewers how to have a personality but some take on faster than others. I'll show you a picture and you're going to guess if the sheep will do something stupid or smart. Get it right, you get 100 points. You can also guess why they look stupid or smart, and if the answer is humorous or insightful enough, you'll get 100 points. Got it?

Round 2: Heckle-in' Game

[ The Late Show Demon politely claps at the first round, small whisps of brimstone seeping through his fingers each time. ]

Alright, for our next game we have a very special guest. I have no idea why but there's something called "corporate synergy" and "cross promotional perks" that almost all network shows use, and that's why they're here. Please welcome the weird sheep angel from "Heckin' Game"...Abe!


Hello contestants! So happy to see you here in...is this Limbo or Idaho? Oh well, never mind. Your next game is called Heckle-in Game! Teams will be on opposite sides and arguing over petty stupid details in an improvised scenario. The ones who make the most convincing argument, or lure the other ones into the dumbest ones, will be declared the winners.

[ Hopping down from the host desk, Warden clears his throat and points at the teams as he gives them the descriptions. ]

Rose, you're doing a makeover tutorial slash spooky ASMR in a haunted as hell mansion because the candelabra lighting is peak theatrical aesthetic. Your task is to show off your beauty regiment and answer questions like how to best use blush when you're ghostly pale.

Lily, you are goth kids trying to summon spirits from an Ouija board and keep getting annoyed when their sultry whispers interfere with haunted whispers. Your job is to try and keep the ritual going while keeping the corporeal questions from interfering with your summoning.

Daffo-Thistle, since you're kind of jocky teams, we will be combining your rites in the dumbest way possible. You are also at the haunted mansion looking for a ghost, but you really suspect that ghost is just some capitalist landlord trying to evict people illegally, and you’re out to stop it as is your job being Meddling Kids. Your job is to interrogate these two groups and see who might be responsible for harboring the criminal.

We'll accept a one sentence summary as the turn in, but looking at how unhinged the whole discussion turns out. Extra points for staying in character. Let's go. Cue aesthetics!

[ The aesthetics is Abe hopping off stage to start making ghost/creaky mansion noises for ambience. Warden hops over to give Rose a case of cosmetics, Lily a Ouija board, and Daffo-Thistle some Scooby snacks. ]

WhooOOOOooooo this is fun!

[ OOCly, in your team header you will try to stay as "in character" as possible for your task while the other teams heckle you. So Rose will continue to try to do a makeup tutorial, Lily will try a ghost summoning, and Daffo-Thistle will investigate and eat the snacks. In the other teams threads your job is to distract, annoy, or generally bother them. ]
