... I guess it doesn't really matter anymore since that bastard's already dead, but if he weren't... Yeah, there was someone.

[Blood Fiend, Angel Devil, and Floyd will suddenly find themselves surrounded by wolf skulls, their jaws lined with fangs. Without warning, they bite down hard, on their arm, torso, and leg respectively. Blood gushes as they tear out your flesh. However, you won't die from it. . .yet.

A seal appears near your wounds. You cannot be healed during the game.]

WHO WOULD YOU MOURN?

I- would morn those that I know and care for. I know that- that there's a limit to my empathy and I cannot truly mourn those I have not known. E-even if someone's hurt others- but was kind to me- I'd miss them-

[FLOYD will suddenly feel as if they are choking, straining for breath. Should someone stare intently, or feel around their throats, they'll find invisible hands made of air strangling them. If they aren't removed or dispersed, they will fall unconscious.]

WHO IS DESERVING OF DEATH?

Who deserves to die? The weak and elderly? The young, too pure for this wretched world? A murderer, or his victim, a cruel being? There are many evils in this world, and many who do not deserve its suffering.

Who deserves to die in your eyes?

Everyone deserves death, the same way that everyone deserves life, for as long as they get it. Denying someone death can be a punishment unto itself.

I think I'm gonna have to agree with Floyd Fiend on this one. Death's, like, a natural part of life, right? And everyone dies eventually, unless they've got some kinda weird immortality thing going on.

Though, I kinda disagree with the last part of your question. I mean, yeah, the world is full of shitty things, but the answer to that isn't to just die, it's to try and make the world a better place! Even if I feel like someone should die for that, that's like, a personal judgment? It doesn't have anything to do with the natural cycle of life and death that we (except for weirdo immortals) are subject to. You know?

So, I guess that's my answer!

Would you mourn a man who's committed many an evil, but benefitted you? An ailing grandmother, alone in her home, but you have never met and will never think about once in your blessed lives.

There are many in this world a pitiful eye will never see.

WOULD YOU JUDGE A LIFE TAKEN WILLINGLY?

Death is a blessing, an escape, for many a mortal. They take their own lives to escape suffering, out of guilt, or a foolish sense of nobility. But in the end, they are no different from a murderer or the murdered. What then, was the point?

Can you see a reason to do it? Would you take your own?

Already did. I'd make the same choice again and again, if it meant dying freely.

If the only other option is to be manipulated, forever under another's control, it's an easy choice.

If others find that foolish, so be it.

Well, I can think of some logical reasons for why someone might do it, but I can't really see myself doing it. Mostly because I can't feel the kinds of feelings that would make people want to kill themselves. Like, despair? Straight up doesn't happen for me anymore!

Ultimately, it seems like kind of a personal decision. I don't think it's right for me to judge that, especially since I'm kind of broken, you know, emotionally.

I think you're wrong, though. It's really different from murder! Murder's when you take control of someone else's life and decide for them whether they should live or die. Suicide is...well, it's about your own life, isn't it? So, not the same thing at all.

You curse death, you fear death, you spit in my eyes. Yet out of anger, out of foolishness, mortals take lives with their own hands. For vengeance, for survival, for love, countless sins are committed by your hands.

So I ask you, what man would you look at and kill yourself?

[He's answered this before, hasn't he? In a way. And it would have been hard to tell if he was being completely serious or not.]

Someone who has betrayed me on a deeply personal level.

[Just "betrayal" on its own isn't a cause for murder. After all, minor transgressions make for great blackmail material. It has to be the sort of unforgivable betrayal there's no reconciliation for.]

Oh boy, this is a tough one. Well... The life of an adventurer can be pretty dangerous! Sometimes that means running into dangerous people who want to kill you, for reasons. When that happens... I try to avoid it, but I'd kill someone if it was a choice between their life and mine. I've done it before.

And... While I can't really feel bad about killing people anymore, I also don't really feel good about it. So I'd rather not do it unless it's the only option left.

It's in living life that one determines its value, though regardless of how that's done, its transient nature is ultimately what makes any of that time worth something. The value of life is that it gives death meaning.
