WOULD YOU JUDGE A LIFE TAKEN WILLINGLY?

Death is a blessing, an escape, for many a mortal. They take their own lives to escape suffering, out of guilt, or a foolish sense of nobility. But in the end, they are no different from a murderer or the murdered. What then, was the point?

Can you see a reason to do it? Would you take your own?

I can't judge someone for that. Not when I feel the way I do. ... It's hard to resist that urge, when it gets strong enough. All I can do is try to help those like me how I can, and hope they found the peace they were looking for where I can't... and keep on walking forward, no matter how hard it is. I can't hate or judge the people who can't make the next step when I know how heavy it feels.

...I think I've tried before. I don't know why my heart hurts so much, or why I'm always afraid, but I know at some point it felt like I was drowning. ... But I know I have people who want me to stay. And that gives me a reason to stay too. And I'll find more.

I can't judge people who do this and feel this way. Not when I'm the same. But I'll keep trying, no matter how much it hurts, because I know that suffering isn't all there is to life. ... Not even you have the right to judge them so cruelly.

because this is not the end she truly wants, as tempting as it can be sometimes.

she wants to sing. she wants to write. she wants to soothe the pain until it's not even an echo in her heart. there's so much she wants to do and she cannot cut it short yet. )

[Death sees.

The inviting feeling fades, and the illusion falls apart. There is nothing there.]

I couldn't. People make all kinds of choices, don't they? It's not my place to judge what someone feels or how strongly they feel it. But I want to keep it from happening, too. Nyx stopped his friend from doing that to herself... and I would do the same for someone I love, too. I'd do anything to try to help them to keep it from happening. But if it happens... it's not my place to judge them. It's my place to mourn them.

I got a second chance of life. I can't give up on that and I could never personally do it.

She doesn't step off—she steps back, instead. Like hell she's going to give up on her life, even with all the horrible things in it.]

[Immediately then, the illusion breaks.

Her resolve stands strong.]

It doesn't... accomplish anything. It doesn't remove your guilt or any of your previous sins. Those still exist, even if you aren't there to take responsibility for them. It's only something a foolish, naïve coward would do.

...I wouldn't do it again.

( she doesn't say anything, though she does look up at him from where she sits, cradling herself.

[ His hand snaps up to it immediately, evaporating the noose. ]

[THIS IS GETTING AWFULLY PERSONAL except not because it's not like he's ever been in that kind of situation or had those kinds of thoughts or anything like that what is this narration even talking about. Cacophonie puts a hand to his temple, like his head is aching, but the words still spill out in a muted jumble.]

...no, I wouldn't. I don't have the right. But- I think they can't complain, if they're judged for betraying those who wanted them to live, or entrusted them with things more valuable than their lives.

Cacophonie doesn't step off, because he's already found his reason to not do that ever again.]
