[A clover shaped crystal rises from the ground. You instinctively know to touch it for Death's Eye to receive your answer.

You are bound to your flock by a thin thread, making it impossible to separate, but you may still answer individually.]

WHO IS DESERVING OF DEATH?

Who deserves to die? The weak and elderly? The young, too pure for this wretched world? A murderer, or his victim, a cruel being? There are many evils in this world, and many who do not deserve its suffering.

Who deserves to die in your eyes?

WHO WOULD YOU MOURN?

Would you mourn a man who's committed many an evil, but benefitted you? An ailing grandmother, alone in her home, but you have never met and will never think about once in your blessed lives.

There are many in this world a pitiful eye will never see.

Who would you mourn?

WOULD YOU JUDGE A LIFE TAKEN WILLINGLY?

Death is a blessing, an escape, for many a mortal. They take their own lives to escape suffering, out of guilt, or a foolish sense of nobility. But in the end, they are no different from a murderer or the murdered. What then, was the point?

Can you see a reason to do it? Would you take your own?

WHO WOULD *YOU* KILL?

You curse death, you fear death, you spit in my eyes. Yet out of anger, out of foolishness, mortals take lives with their own hands. For vengeance, for survival, for love, countless sins are committed by your hands.

So I ask you, what man would you look at and kill yourself?

[You know instinctively, as the final question is asked, that Death's Eye will only take one answer.

I have some feelings about it, but I don't like talking about them. Even aside from... what's probably obvious.

... I'm going to apologize preemptively for some of my answers. I know they're things people won't want to hear.

I might need to apologize, too. There's a lot of things I haven't told anyone yet.

What's with this stupid place's obsession with dying...

It might have something to do with the fact that they can all interact with their world's death god...

Either way, it's irritating that we keep getting dragged into it.

I think it's... the fact that you can keep trying. Even when things seem to be at it's darkest, the sun will eventually rise again. It's... only the end if you let it be. But until then, you can try to keep going, or try something over and over again. That's what I believe.

There are some things you'll never be able to change. No matter how hard you try, the outcome will always be the same. If that's all the value of life is, then I want no part of it.

Yes, it is. But it's all I have keeping me going, some nights. That if I keep walking, I'll find a way out, or something that can change. And until then.... until then, there will be things to inspire me to take that next step. Like a song I want to finish, or... time with the people I want to be with.

So. One of Lily's members was trying to... fight the snake? And. Died. And also all of Lily is also dead.

It's not about "deserve". Death is... a natural part of life. All that is capable of life, must die eventually. It's not a punishment or a gift. It simply is. So I suppose... no one and everyone, if it must be answered.

[She can feel the Eye staring at her.

All of Clover will suddenly see loved ones or acquaintances--if they have memory loss, then those they have gotten close to in the pasture--and they all smile at them warmly, a look of serenity and gratitude.

Just as all their throats are slit from by an unseen force. Very real blood pools at your feet.

But nothing else happens.]

( sonata sees... sonata sees three girls who's names she can't remember. she sees clover, and crescendo and vivace.

it's only the fact that clover is still there and around her that stops her from crying out. but...

... Honestly...

I can't judge someone for that. Not when I feel the way I do. ... It's hard to resist that urge, when it gets strong enough. All I can do is try to help those like me how I can, and hope they found the peace they were looking for where I can't... and keep on walking forward, no matter how hard it is. I can't hate or judge the people who can't make the next step when I know how heavy it feels.

...I think I've tried before. I don't know why my heart hurts so much, or why I'm always afraid, but I know at some point it felt like I was drowning. ... But I know I have people who want me to stay. And that gives me a reason to stay too. And I'll find more.

I can't judge people who do this and feel this way. Not when I'm the same. But I'll keep trying, no matter how much it hurts, because I know that suffering isn't all there is to life. ... Not even you have the right to judge them so cruelly.
