Thistle
[You're in your barn! That doesn't seem so bad--oh, oh wait, you're in the air.
Your barn, and honestly some of your stuff, is just floating on clouds. You can walk on the clouds too if you want, no one's stopping you. You will not, however, be able to return to the ground, far, far below you, no matter what you do.
At least not til the Ritual is complete.
Floating among everything else is your priest, who seems to have fallen into a deep sleep, and the barn's crystal flower.
After a moment, you hear voices resonating from the crystal flower--the holy beasts, their voices and minds melded as one, call out to you.
It asks your Flock 3 simple questions.]

[then he is just saying fuck to say fuck and not stick it to the man :/]

It's still funny.
no subject
Yeah, yeah. . . we should probably focus.
no subject
Probably.
Can't say I like how those questions are worded.
no subject
So let's ignore the wording and answer in our own way.

From the beginning to the end.

I'd think it would go without saying, but violence is the last thing you'd use.

I think. . . what I told Loki is my answer to that one.
I'd do nothing, because it isn't up to me whether they stay or not.
no subject
It's not in the end.
. . . though I do get that sometimes you have to fight things out.
no subject
[how many times has he thrown hands at Loki. . .]
But that's different.
no subject
. . . second one, I like what you and Odin said.
no subject
But a little of what Loki said, too. About how having a heart changed can be life-saving.

[a tiny smile]
So let's definitely include it.
no subject
. . . do you know your answer for the last one?
no subject
[he answers without hesitation]
. . . what do you think my answer is?
no subject
No one gets left behind.
no subject
Never.
. . . not on my watch.

. . . do you know what promise I made to Thistle when I first arrived? When I first realized I was meant to be their Shepherd?
no subject
I don't think you ever told me.
no subject
I promised them. . . I'd give them a place to belong.
[a group of wounded kids with no place to belong, no home to call their own, shoulders burdened with the harshness of reality and life. . . that's what Thistle was when Lupin first arrived]
I hope I've managed to keep that promise.
