[gm card room - lily]

[You find yourselves seated around a table in the middle of a small room. You can’t really perceive any walls, just heavy black velvet curtains on all sides. If you push them aside looking for a way out, you just keep finding more curtains behind them.

There is a crystal ball in the middle of the table and a spread of six large cards arranged around it, currently facedown. Their backs are a plain matte black.

You are aware that powers are all off for card rounds but will be on for the punishment round. You have whatever items are normally on your person.]

[ dares another glance at the cards, frowning a little more thoughtfully ]

You don't think it's losing an eye? A hallucination does make more sense with the name. I don't really get what the heart twisting one could be if it's physical though. It's a low point, and they wouldn't really make us...physically mess with someone's heart for that, would they?

[runs a hand through his hair and glares at the cards like their little pictures will reveal their secrets]

I don't think losing an eye would be this low on the points scale. That's just the general impression I have of demons, though. If the heart one was worth more points, I would suspect it of being something...more physical. A stab through the heart isn't that bad if you can immediately heal it afterwards. But, again, if it's for low points, then I'm hoping it means that it's some kind of emotional punishment. We have had those before.

[ nodding along with the last part of that ]

Something emotional made the most sense to me too. But I guess...if both the eye and heart cards could be something mental, then maybe we should pick those over the smothering one. I... I don't want to make any of us do that one.

[Cepheus and Ananke both don't want to do smothering...his expression says "am I the weird one here???"]

That one sounds the easiest... I'd prefer to do the low point ones as much as possible, but I don't care which ones. They're all going to be some kind of punishment, and without the actual description written on the card, we're just guessing. If you have a preference for what you can or can't stomach, then...that's important too, since we're delivering punishments.

Choking came up in the last game we had to hit Daffodil and Rose in too. I'm already trying to keep my lunch down before we've even done anything.

Would you really be able to—uh. Do that?
mykidisthebest: (We're told we gotta get ahead)

Yeah, of course. I can do all of the punishments if I need to. I don't really want you or Cepheus to have that on your conscience.

It's not better. It's just practical. Having one person do it keeps everyone else from having to stomach it. It's not like I like doing it, but I have a high tolerance for it. And I won't get nightmares from it.

It's an option if you don't feel up to it. That's all.

Sacrificing one person for everyone else is also messed up, Lethe. We might not even get to decide who does it anyway.

It's not a sacrifice. I'm volunteering.

But, point taken. We don't know how the punishments are going to go yet. It might be like last time where we get whisked away.

Yeah. We can go back to arguing about it if no one disappears.

We don't need to argue about it. If either of you want to do some of the punishments I won't object. Since we're playing as a group it's only fair that we have an equal say in that.

Cepheus said you had a preference on which card to put with Rose. Is it because you're worried about Azdaja?

Yeah... I really don't want to risk hurting her again. Even if she avoided what Scarab did, it still really scared her. Way more than she let on when he talked to her.

[nods in agreement; a little tired, subdued]

Everyone's scared of death, so her reaction makes sense. I get where she's coming from--though she obviously has special circumstances as well. I...don't want to risk hurting her either. I'm selfishly hoping that whatever these are, they're mild. And that someone else takes it.
