[gm card room - bluebell]

[You find yourselves seated around a table in the middle of a small room. You can’t really perceive any walls, just heavy black velvet curtains on all sides. If you push them aside looking for a way out, you just keep finding more curtains behind them.

There is a crystal ball in the middle of the table and a spread of six large cards arranged around it, currently facedown. Their backs are a plain matte black.

You are aware that powers are all off for card rounds but will be on for the punishment round. You have whatever items are normally on your person.]

It's only one winner for the number of points played. If Lily doesn't go immediately for the ten cards, they way I know Clover and Daffodil will, there's no way they're going to make up the difference. Even with your help. You can't make silk out of a sow's ear and you can't make Lily the winner through points.

[ hunches down in consideration ]

Hmm, don't expect me to advocate for a ruthless rebound. I know it's just as pointless and it's not your style~ I really am interested in cooperating with you all, you know You're right that these points are worthless to you now, but throwing them away isn't doing much either. If you wanted a return investment, it's too late now. Coupon expired!

Buuuuut it could help if something like this happened in another game and you made an agreement with one of the brutal teams to keep their most ruthless impulses in check in exchange for such things. Or a share of the winnings. Hmm, I don't know what you consider good bribery.

Heh! I'm only saying if your sincere appeals to their kinder natures isn't working, why not a little quid pro quo?

How mercenary.

[ bleh ]

Well... more agreements between flocks is unlikely to make things worse than they already are. But it's also asking for a whole lot of trust.

Not everyone does the right thing simply because it's in their morals. Sometimes the best way to create harmony is through societal pressure~

If you decide not to trust my idea, I won't be offended! I'm simply offering you my perspective as someone who deals with these sorts of problems in my job.

Hey, hey now. You more than most should know better than to judge someone by appearances!

I'm a great guard by the way. Nobody has complained about my cooking, and unlike the pasture requesting basic amenities from me usually just involves a lot of paperwork and not blood sacrifices.

Hehe, spoken like a career criminal!

That's fine with me. I'm an easy going enough guy that I can still be friendly towards all kinds of people, even unrepentant murderers.

The "summon a demon for torture and blame it on the Weed role" is a new and uncharacteristically dark turn for him. Prior to this he was very eager to play friendly games and start a food bank. He never twinged my psychopath senses.

I'm guessing he went spelunking in some demon exorcisms and caught a bad case of Pazuzu flu. But if I'm wrong and he truly was waiting for this opportunity to torture us all, I'll eat my guard hat.
