[ you’re in a kitchen, with wide-silled windows set into every wall and framed by flock-colored curtains! you’re seated at a table with a tablecloth in the same colors. it’s a little strange here; the counters and cabinets are made of rubber, as are your chairs and the table, and everything squeaks or jingles like a bell when you sit down in it. warm sunlight streams through the windows; it’s very bright and cheerful in this room, though the shadows are equivalently deep and dark.

in the dead center of the table sits a plate of . . . ten perfect, delicious-looking hot dogs.

you thought this was a competition for points? no — you know instinctively that these are what you compete for, a measurement equivalent to points yet infinitely superior. these are your treasure. this is the hoard you must expand and defend. are you all ready for this? ]

[ each action you take requires you to give a certain number of hot dogs to one of your runners so they’ll help you complete it. each round, you can choose any combination of zero or one Category A activities, zero or one Category B activities, and either zero, one, or two Category C activities, or you may pass and keep your existing pile of hot dogs.

you have thirty minutes per round! if you run down the clock without making a decision, the results may be . . . unpredictable. ♥]

Category A
2 HOT DOGS: RECONNYAISANCE (Tater and the Cat Demon will spy on all the other teams for you, giving you the hot dog total of the 2 highest and 2 lowest scorers from the previous round.)

1 HOT DOG: REBARKABLE DONATION ( Tot and the Dog Demon will graciously carry up to 6 hot dogs to a team of your choice, for a small fee.)


Category B
2 HOT DOGS: SNEAK ATTACK (Tater sneaks into another team’s stash of hot dogs and brings back 6! will FAIL if your target has also used a sneak attack or guarded.)

2 HOT DOGS: BOLD ATTACK (Tot storms your enemy’s gates and steals 6 hot dogs from them! will FAIL if your target has also used a bold attack or guarded.)


Category C
4 HOT DOGS: ...HURK... (The Cat Demon eats 4 of your hot dogs and... uh... either that’s it or they puke them back up, leaving your originals plus 4 more strangely unscathed hot dogs for your pile. 50/50 shot. this video of a cat hurking has been replaced by a kitten sleeping, that’s gross.)
