"Manipulate" isn't the right word. It implies force, lack of consent, and harm to the one you care for. That isn't love— that's selfishness.

But Odin's right. Changing someone's heart just by supporting them and being there for them. . . giving them a place to belong, and a reason to change. . .

That is life-saving.
